Last week, Derek Scott, Measurement Consultant at KELTON, spoke to attendees and exhibitors of the 1st ISA Process Measurement Control Division UAE Symposium in Abu Dhabi.
Held at the St. Regis Nation Towers, the event was attended by specialists in the flow measurement industry, sharing insights and exchanging ideas in various panel discussions as well as in the exhibition area on the day.
In his presentation entitled “From FDS to FAT and SAT: You Think We Would Have Learned”, Derek discussed KELTON’s experience in FDS (Functional Design Specification), FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) and SAT (Site Acceptance Test) within the realm of Custody Transfer Measurement. Time delays, non-operational equipment, unexpected changes and inexperienced personnel all have an impact on a successful FAT, SAT and the handover of the operational system. In a practical yet pragmatic approach derived from 16 years of hands on experience in the industry, he shared with attendees the dos and don’ts behind the processes, the pitfalls commonly encountered, as well as valuable lessons learned.
Similar to other ISA events that KELTON has attended in the past, the symposium proved a highly informative and insightful event organised by DMS, and it was an absolute pleasure to catch up with our fellow speakers and attendees.
