Role Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full stack developer based in our head office in Aberdeen, with the opportunity to work from home several days a week. The successful candidate will be responsible for building a wide variety of C# and Cloud based applications, from back-end services to their client-end counterparts and in coordination with the rest of the team working on different layers of the infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Translate application storyboards and user cases into functional applications
  • Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable C# code
  • Ensure the best possible performance, quality and responsiveness of applications
  • Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to these problems
  • Help maintain code quality, organisation and automatisation
  • Write and maintain software documentation and handover systems to support staff
  • Provide 3rd line support to customers

Specialised Technical Knowledge and Skills

In order to be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following:

  • Proficient in C#, including good knowledge of its ecosystems, concurrency patterns, and how to write reusable C# 
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented programming
  • Familiarity with the .NET framework and .Net Core
  • Familiarity with various design and architectural patterns
  • Familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server
  • Experience with popular web application frameworks
  • Familiarity with Windows Presentation Framework
  • Understanding of fundamental design principles behind a scalable application
  • Creating database schemas that represent and support business processes
  • Basic understanding of Common Language Runtime (CLR), its limitations, weaknesses, and workarounds
  • Implementing automated testing platforms and unit tests
  • Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as Git and SVN
  • Familiarity with continuous integration
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Azure
